Mon travail artistique est une recherche active de ce qui a pu naître à priori ; que c’est inverser l’usure du temps par le biais de médiums stratigraphiques. Tout d’abord, la ligne, les lignes pensés et le dessin sont à la racine de mon exploration artistique (à noter que j’amorce parfois mes canevas par le noir). Je maîtrise mon sillon par des dizaines le lignes, de noir, de blanc, de tournis et de voyages. Par cette ligne excitée qui va sans cesse d’un bout à l’autre du corps représenté, je créer une dualité intérieure, un mouvement statique en position décuplé. Je transcende le sujet par la surface, dans la tapisserie abstraite du tableau. Dans cette recherche on considère alors les personnages ou autre, comme étant des « tache » dénuées partiellement de l’iconographie qu’elles allèguent. Ces taches sont construites organiquement par de multiples formes, volumes, lignes, corps, textures, et masses-objets.
Tout est inclus dans le tableau à la manière des notes harmoniques de pièce musicale.
Diana would say her work is first and foremost an active search for what could have been; time and its passage are filtered and inversed through stratigraphic mediums. To step back and view the larger sense of Diana Polizeno’s body of work we find there are a few common threads that emerge simply and delightfully.
we also note that sometimes she begins with a black canvas. Master of her craft, Diana begins with dozens of interlacing lines, full of dizzying paths and searching strokes. The line is alive and from its voyage from one end to another of the represented figure, a duality of existence is created.
With her work the subject is transcended through the worked canvas surface and the abstract composition. First we’re met with spots and splotches that form the beginnings of the iconic figures they hint to. These splotches are united with various forms, lines, strokes and fills. The elements appear and the whole comes together as harmoniously as a musical piece.
